Select more items of interest to women
I'm no longer sure how things are in Denmark in the engineering professions. Here in the UK women are still in a minority and their interests are not catered for properly. Worse still, engineering as a whole is full of male chauvenists. Even though they may not discriminate actively, they can always find ways...
So my suggestion is that the editorial overview of the contents of Ingenioeren needs to have a major component of female input so that subjects of interest and women's viewpoints are much more visible and available in the magazine.
I realise, Tine, that women's order of importance may be skewed often towards their inevitable child-rearing role in society, but there is much more to women engineers roles in society, even Danish society. The choice of such sterotypes for your article is going to annoy many (if not most) women readers of your piece, and simply confirms male prejudices.
In this country Health and Safety (arbejdsmiljoe) is one area which has a nearly equal number of female and male members (although the heavy engineering side is unreasonably skewed to the male). Perhaps more in this area will increase the value of Ingenioeren for female engineers?
Certainly you need to look for where women have penetrated in greater numbers and check that you are putting an appropriate amount of journalistic effort into those areas of engineering, get those female journalists you employ or who write material for you to give this content a female "twist" and also persuade them to to "storm" the male dominated areas with articles and encourage them when "Mr MCP" tries to belittle their work (instead of dropping them).
I'm a women's libbist from way back (I grew up with two big sisters and had no choice :-). I abhor the waste of women's skills and abilities in our Western society as much as I do the vileness of the Islamic view of women as half persons. Come on build up your stable of women engineering journalists and print their material often. This is something a women engineer can do while raising a family, if she'll spare the time to keep up with her profession.
