Denmark ranks first in the European Commission’s latest Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) report, which measures and compares EU member states’ progress in digitalisation.

The Danish Agency for Digitisation wrote on this topic in its press release.

DESI measures progress based on the following indicators: human capital (digital competences), connectivity (networks), integration of digital technology, and digital public services.

According to the Danish Agency for Digitisation, the DESI report highlights, among other things, the high support for the use of digital public services (eGovernment) as the reason for Denmark’s placement at the top of the digitalisation list.

92 percent of Internet users in Denmark have used digital public services within the past year. This means that Denmark is the EU member state with the highest proportion of public digital service users in the study.
