Valle 1 and Valle 2 are two adjacent solar plants that generate electricity by means of cylindrical-parabolic collectors.

Characteristics of Valle 1 and Valle 2:

Rated electrical power per plant: 50 MW
Net electrical production expected per plant: 160 GWh/year
Solar field: 510,000 m2 of SENERtrough® cylindrical-parabolic collectors
Heat storage system: each plant has a heat storage system with seven hours' capacity.

This system permits the generation of electrical power for 4,000 hours a year. The use of concentrated solar radiation as primary energy enables Valle 1 and Valle 2 to supply electricity to 40,000 households and prevent the emission of 45,000 tons of CO2 a year. The energy generated by Valle 1 and Valle 2, which are located in San José del Valle (Spain), will be sent through a high-tension line to the Valle 400 kV substation.
